Mrs. Addie Mae Robinson

Addie Mae Taylor Robinson was born on January 3, 1940, in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Malcus Thornton and Gladys Jenkins. Addie Mae was best known by her family as “Shug”, a nickname given by her father Malcus. She was the eldest child out of 15 siblings. Growing up, Addie Mae attended St. Paul school in Walthall County, Mississippi. Later in life, she married and moved to New Orleans, La, for some time before moving back to Ruth, Mississippi, where she resided until she was called onto eternal life on January 24, 2026. Addie Mae Taylor Robinson was born on January 3, 1940, in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Malcus Thornton and Gladys Jenkins. Later in life she married and moved to New Orleans, La for some time before moving back to Ruth, Mississippi where she resided until she was called onto eternal life on January 24, 2026. Addie Mae was a devoted wife and wonderful mother to her seven children. One of her greatest attributes was being a loving caretaker to her family from a young girl. She was just as much a hard worker. She worked at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center for over 35 years until her retirement. Addie Mae was a loyal member of Pleasant Valley Church of God in Christ in Tylertown, Mississippi. Addie Mae had a love for baking and cooking. There was always a fresh cake or pie waiting to be eaten by those who visited. Addie Mae was preceded in death by her parents Malcus and Gladys Thornton; Late husbands: Thomas Taylor, and her second husband Randolph Robinson; Son in law: Donald Harness; Siblings: Albert, Clydell,L.C., Lavelle, Mathew, and Willie Mae Thornton; Aunt: Juanita Downs; Uncles: Willestes Jenkins, Addie Mae is survived by her children: Rosetta Harness (mom’s spiritual child) Etta Mae Moore (mom’s problem solver) Rose “Kennith” Pittman (mom’s comforting child) Faye “Kerrin” Francisco (mom’s personal chef) Danny Taylor (mom’s thoughtful child) Debra Pittman (mom’s personal nurse) Dennis Wayne Taylor (mom’s baby boy); Her siblings: Charles “Celest” Thornton, L.J. “Sabrina” Thornton, Louis James Thornton, Malcolm “Sylvia” Thornton, Artis Thornton, Molly Jane “Bill” Brent, Wylena Thornton, Bernadette Thornton; Grandchildren: Fourteen grandchildren and Nineteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
